The Ark Teaching School Hub is the designated teaching school hub for south Birmingham. Our aim is to provide schools with high quality, high impact professional development for teachers at all stages of their careers. We are delighted to be able to build on the success of our former teaching school at Ark St Alban’s Academy and to leverage the expertise we have across both Ark and the wider Birmingham education community.
Through the Ark TSH, we are opening Ark’s highly successful SCITT programme called Ark Teacher Training (ATT) to schools across the Midlands. We are committed to providing high quality professional learning for trainee teachers, in both primary and secondary settings, across 13 subject areas. We support ITTs to ensure they have the biggest impact possible in the classroom and provide an outstanding foundation for a successful career in education. In order to deliver the very best professional development for teachers at all stages of their careers, we have partnered with Ambition Institute to facilitate the reformed NPQs and a fully funded ECF full induction programme. We have a long-standing and extremely successful relationship with Ambition; we have facilitated Ambition NPQs for a number of years and also piloted Ambition’s ECF programme with early career teachers across our 38 schools. Ambition’s ECF and NPQ programmes compliments Ark’s existing commitment to high quality, high impact instructional coaching to teachers at all stages of their careers.
We are the only teaching school hub in the country that can directly facilitate Leverage Leadership professional development. In addition to becoming a centre of excellence for professional development, the Ark Teaching School Hub also provides appropriate body services for schools with early career teachers.
